Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies
This recipes was shared by Kiwi WWOOF Hosts as a part of Kelsey's fieldwork in Nelson. The recipe held special significance for the Hosts as they had a Hazelnut tree on their property; as such they often made it for their family and WWOOFers.
Ingredidents
500g butter (melted)
650g castor sugar
8 tbsp flour (sifted)
1 tsp baking powder
8 eggs (beaten)
180g cocoa powder (sifted)
1 large black milk chocolate block (approx. 175g, chopped)
½ cup roasted hazelnuts (chopped)
Directions

Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F)

Melt butter, remove from heat, add sugar. Mix to combine, and set aside.

Sift all dry ingredients together, and add to butter mixture.

Add beaten eggs to mixture and combine.

Stir in chopped chocolate chunks (and hazelnuts, if using).

Pour into large, square baking tray (10” x 10”), lined with baking paper.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Remove and allow to set before cutting into 2-inch squares.
